This Years Bike Build Is Here

As Deb, our grant and registration guru would say ~ Are you ready to Rock ‘n Roll?

Bike Build 2008 is upon us. This year will be even better than previous years. If you have a place in the Bike Build, you are lucky indeed. This year was an amazing 9 hour record and all spots were filled. Registration opened and closed in one short day!

This year is a challenge! For a variety of reasons bike pricing was as much as 30 - 40% higher. We’ll gladly tell you more about that story – just ask us at the build. Add to that fuel prices this year and bikes were flying out of stores. Bike shop owners said that sales were up as much as 20%. With decreased supplies due to world events and increased demand ~ well, you get the picture. So we have fun and games planned. Can you say competition? We are offering a prize to the group and the individual that brings the biggest donation (more details to come). So put your thinking caps on and start thinking how to be the group or individual that wins that most delicious prize and coveted trophy!

And remember, this all started because, Sue, an individual just asked friends and work colleagues for donations to buy bikes. It works! So come up with your strategy. It certainly doesn’t have to be your own money if you are an individual ~ ask your friends! And remember, the number one reason people say they don’t give ~ they weren’t asked!

And come ready to participate in the raffle. The prizes are very cool! There’s even a bike ~ what a surprise!

With a donated South Hall by Team San Jose, donated food, donated tee shirts so far the only cost to TWFK for the build is the teams tireless labor. Now that’s the bees knees in my book!
